| Mustang JVs Prevail 44-37 In Battle Of The Undefeated Extend Win Streak To Fourteen Janury 18, 2005 |

| Twenty Wins and No Losses were represented on the floor at Pendleton County on Tuesday evening as the undefeated Mustangs at 13-0 and the undefeated Wildcats 7-0 faced each other in a showdown of the unbeatens. We knew that Pendleton County possessed some big weapons when no less than three JV Cats put on a slam-dunk exhibition in the pre-game. Several Mustang players also got the first-hand information as their shots were rejected with great regularity. Through it all the JV Mustangs did what they did best - move the ball, hit the open man, take the uncontested shot, and play great defense. While our long range shooting failed us for the most part, our inside game was golden as Nathan Mutsch and Troy Cooper combined for 22 of the Mustangs 44 points and nailed ten of eleven from the free-throw line between them and our guard corps did an excellent job of getting them the ball in advantagous situations. The Mustangs were a combined 18 of 26 from the free-throw line, a figure their varsity counterparts would have liked to have had an hour later. Luke Rebholz and Adam Franzen supplied the only 3-ball conections on the day and Jimmy Uebel put up six points, all via the charity stripe. Brossart led 9-5 at the quarter stop and 18-14 at intermission. The Mustangs drew off to a 30-22 lead after three periods and gave a point back in the final period to post their school record 14th consecutive JV win 44-37 tagging the Cats with their first loss of the season. |

| The Mustang Freshmen tipped off the Brossart-Pendleton tripleheader in successful manner, defeating the homestanding Cats 32-18. Playing six minutes of nearly even ball through the first quarter saw the Stangs on top 5-4, the Mustangs rallied for fourteen points in the second period, led by a six point barrage by Ryan Neltner, to take a 19-8 lead to the locker-room at halftime. The eleven point halftime bulge gave the Mustangs enough of a cushion to cruise through the second half in winning their fifth game of the season.
