| Freshmen Mustangs Come Of Age With Back To Back Wins Over Beechwood and Newport December 28 & 30, 2004 |
| Coach Mike Schack had to be awfully proud of his boys last night, as all twelve logged QPT and put points on the board in a 51-22 rout of the Newport Wildcats at home in the SyCenter. The Mustangs turned up the heat on defense in the second half transforming a 22-15 halftime advantage into a 36-17 bulge after three-quarters, limiting the Cats to a single field goal, reminiscent of some of the defensive heroics employed by their varsity Mustang counterparts throughout the first half of the season. The Mustangs didn't let up in the final period, restricting their NKAC opponents to five points, while applying the coup de' grace with a 15-5 period. Athletic Adam Clark led the Mustangs offensive attack with 12 points, followed by Greg Stortz with 8, and Ben Ridder with 6. Box Score: Ridder 3-0-2/2-6, Ruberg 2-0-0/0-4, Neltner 1-0-0/1-2, Hertzenberg 2-0-0/0-4, Boesch 2-0-0/1-4, Cummins 1-0-0/0-2, Clark 6-0-0/2-12, Bezold 0-0-1/2-1, Moore 1-0-0/1-2, Beckerich 1-0-0/0-2, Bleha 2-0-0/0-4, Stortz 3-0-2/2-8 Totals: 24-0-3/11-51 |
| The Mustang Freshmen cashed in on the painful experiences gained from playing 4-A Campbell County, Dixie Heights, Highlands, and Ohio powerhouse Oak Hills, taking out the Beechwood Red and White Tigers 37-28 in a Tuesday night game in Fort Mitchell.
