| Tough guys with big hearts who never gave less than 100%, this tandem of Jon Lloyd and Nick Ziegler became known throughout the state as "THE JUNKYARD DOGS' because of their defensive tenacity in the State Tournament Game vs Graves County, in which they were largely responsible for forcing 16 second half Graves turnovers allowing us to overcome a seven point first half deficit and win the game. In addition, Nick Ziegler hit two critical three point shots to change the momentum of the game. The name was originally given to them by Coach Bill Klopp in recognition of their defensive intensity and the abilty to reap havoc on opponent ball-handlers a full year prior to our State Tournament appearance in 2000. Jon Lloyd was a three sport athlete (Soccer, Basketabll and Baseball) presently attending Northern Kentucky University. Nick Ziegler played both baseball and basketball and is presently attending the University of Kentucky. |
