FRESHMEN HEAD COACH MIKE SCHACK
  1981 Brossart Grad Mike Schack will serve as our freshman coach for his eighth season.   He brings a 105-66 into the 2011-12 campaign.  Previous to joining the Mustang staff Mike served as the head coach of the Sts. Peter and Paul 7th and 8th Grade Cardinals from 1990 to 2002 and more recently the 5th/6th Boys from 2002 through 2004.  Under his tutlege the Cardinals were Diocesan Class A Champions in 1996 and Runners-up in 1998.
  
   He was responsible for developing Mustang Legends Nathan and Justin Seiter as well as Curtis Bezold and David Enzweiler.
Coach Schack's 2008-09 Freshmen Team presented him with his first-ever 37th District Championship and then became only the second team in Brossart history to win the 10th Region Freshmen Championship.  Last year his talented freshmen team duplicated the efforts of the 2008-09 team, posting a school-record 26-1 win-loss record enroute to winning the Holy Cross Invitational Tournament, 37th District Championship and 10th Region Championships.

   Coach Schack is married to the former Janet Krift, a 1982 Brossart Alum.  They have three children  -  Jessica, a former Mustang cheerleader; John, a freshman at NKU, and Justin, a member of the 2011-12 Brossart Freshmen team. 
ASSISTANT FRESHMEN COACH ADAM FRANZEN
  Former Mustang Adam Franzen '06 joined the Mustang staff back in 2008-09, just in time to be a major factor in the team's winning the 37th District title, and 10th Region Championship and the 26-1 10th Region Championship Freshmen team.

   During his playing days, Adam was a deadly shooter and a tenatious defender.  He brings his hard-nose style of play and intense defensive attitude onto the court and passes it along to his freshmen charges.
  
   Adam Franzen had the privlege of playing on the 2005-06 Brossart team that captured the Ashland Invitational Tournament, upsetting heavily favored Christian County in the finals.

    He is engaged to marry Megan Garmany in late March of 2012.
STAFF ASSISTANT DAVE SCHABELL
  Coach Schabs is a fixture around the Mustang basketball program.
   During his tenure, the '65 Brossart grad has served as head coach to eleven Mustang freshmen teams.  He also served a five year stint as Varsity Girls Head Coach from 1986 through 1991 where he compiled a 99-45 record, including a 26-6 campaign in 1986-87 which ended in the 9th Region Semi-Finals, after winning the school's very first District Championship. 
    Dave has served under seven Mustang head coaches dating back to Jon Quatman who hired him in 1978.  He is presently the program's business manager in charge of publicity, the
bmustangs website, the Go Mustangs! E/Group, Fund-Raising, Anchors the IBN/IHigh Webcast Team, and serves as Traveling Secretery when the Mustangs are on the road.  
    Schabell was elected to the 10th Region Hall of Fame in the spring of 2009; was inducted into the Distinguished Service wing of the Northern Kentucky Athletic Director's Association Hall of Fame in October, and the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in November of 2009. 
  Trainer Chris Unkraut returns to the Mustangs staff for his fifth season.
  
   Chris is a Dixie Heights High School graduate of 1999, where he was an outstanding quarterback for the then-second ranked Colonels football team.

   He has experience in serving as an athletic trainer which includes a stint of working for the Cincinnati Bengals.

   Chris serves as trainer to all of the Brossart athletic teams.  He is an employee of St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine Group and works specifically with Dr. Michael Miller.
TRAINER CHRIS UNKRAUT
  Tim and Rose Cooper are photography buffs who are a major reason for the great photos displayed here on the bmustangs website.  They can be found at most of our major sporting events taking action shots of our players.

   They are the parents of three former Mustangs Jason '05, Troy '07 and Emily '09 
   Troy Cooper is on scholarship at the University of Cincinnati where he holds several records in the shot put.

2010 Grad Jordan Armstrong is serving in an apprentice volunteer capacity this season.

   Having played for Coach Mike Code for three years, Jordan understands the "Code System" and will be an asset to our players in critiquing their performaces.  He will also be instrumental in scouting future opponents.
 
   It is Jordan's ambition to teach and coach basketball at Brossart someday.
