Mustang Legend
"The Boss"
Evan McDole
Two sport Mustang superstar Evan McDole has
the distinction in basketball of being the only
player in Brossart history to have never competed
in freshmen or junior varsity competition prior to
playing on the varsity level.

Evan was a varsity starter in his first high school
game on November 30th, 2001 at home vs Paris, a
game that the Mustangs would win 83-63.  He
would start in all 30 games played his freshmen

As a sophomore, Evan would run his streak of
starts to 56 before coming off the bench on
February 28th at Simon Kenton, where the
Mustangs would upset the top ranked Pioneers
59-56.  Evan also came off the bench in the next
game which was the first game of the 2003 38th
District Tournament where the Mustangs would
eliminate Silver Grove 43-31. He rejoined the
ranks of the starting five in the following game, a
59-51 win over Pendleton County in the District
Championship Game and started both games in the
10th Region Tournament where the Mustangs
would finish their season in the final four.  He
would start all 29 games in his junior season and 23
of the 24 games his senior season, setting a new
school record for most games started with 111,
seven better than the old school record of 104, held
by Curtis Bezold.
Evan joined the elite Mustang 1,000 Point Club on Friday night,
December 17th, 2004 at George Rogers Clark High School.  He
finished his career with 1273 points placing him fifth on the
all-time scoring list trailing only Nathan Seiter, Dave Farwick,
Brian Ficker, and Greg Schwegmann.  Evan averaged 11.3ppg
for his career.  He led the team in scoring his junior and senior
seasons, while being the second leading scorer his freshman and
sophomore years.  He led the Mustangs in rebounding all four
years - combining for 755 career rebounds.

It is no stretch of the imagination to proclaim Evan McDole one of the most prolific athletes ever to pull on a
Brossart basketball jersey or baseball uniform.  He has been a mainstay in this program since he played his
first game as a freshmen and has left an indelible mark on both of these sports which will never be forgotten.
In four years, he has risen to become the fifth leading scorer in the history of Brossart basketball dating back
to 1954.  His basketball teams have amassed 79 wins in his four year career which has included four
consecutive wins over arch-rival Newport Central Catholic, three in a row over Campbell County and Three out
of Four wins over Covington Catholic, twice while they were ranked Number One in Northern Kentucky.  This
past season he led the Mustangs to two victories in the Fifth-Third Bank Classic at Lexington Catholic, with
one of those wins eliminating the host school from their own tournament.  He finishes his career at Brossart
High School as the leading scorer and rebounder on a team that won our school's first NKAC Division II
Conference Title, with an undefeated 6-0 mark.  We completed a sweep of all Diocesan Parochial Schools for
the first time ever and were ranked Number One in all of Northern Kentucky in the final Enquirer and
Kentucky Post polls.  While we will create a special "Baseball Legends" page for Evan it is worthy to note that
he has led the Mustangs in scoring in his last two baseball seasons, hitting .370 as a freshman, .467 as a
sophomore, and .489 as a junior.  As a sophomore he set the school doubles record with 16 and narrowly
missed Justin Seiter's 13 home run record last year, finishing the season with 12 dingers.  He was named the
"Northern Kentucky Baseball Player of the Year" last season and played on the Kentucky State Junior
All-Star team.  Evan went on to play his college baseball at Northern Kentucky University where he received
the GLVC's Paragon Award, was named the GLVC Player of the Year his Junior Season, and was awarded
post-graduate scholarship money by the NCAA.  On Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 Evan was inducted into the
10th Region Hall of Fame, joining Nathan and Justin Seiter as Brossart's only three players to be so honored.

Evan McDole has truly earned the title of being "THE BOSS."

In addition to being inducted into the 10th Region Hall of Fame in 2014, he has since been
inducted into the Bishop Brossart Sports Hall of Fame for his prowess on the baseball
diamond, as well as his impact on the hardwood.
