| FINAL 2001-2002 JUNIOR VARSITY STATS |
| While on the surface it may seem that the 11-12 Junior Varsity squad did not have a very good year, take into consideration the fact that the nucleus of the team was made up of four sophomores and three freshmen, who were often playing against Junior laden JV teams and you may get a different perspective. Also a only a single victory differentiates between a 12-11 winning season and our 11-12 year. During the course of the season the JVs lost an overtime game to the 9th Region Champion Highlands Bluebirds and a double overtime game to Division I Simon Kenton. A win over Lexington Catholic and Mason County somewhat validifies their season. Five players scored over 100 points for the season and a total of 12 points prevented two more from going over the century mark. Second leading scorer, freshman Kevin Smith missed games two through eight due to a broken wrist. Recognizing the fact that we graduate only two seniors this season and quite a few freshmen will be returning as sophomores, I suspect that we might well expect a much deeper, stronger sophomore class which should provide for a very competitive J.V. team in 02-03. |
