Final Junior Varsity
The 2011-12 Junior Varsity team was
completely comprised of sophomores - the
nucleus of the 26-1 10th Region Freshmen
championship team of the previous season,
plus the addition of Erik Rieger and Drew
Burns who did not play freshmen
basketball, and less the presence of Nate
Verst, who played stricktly varsity
basketball this season.
The JVs opened their season with a 7-0
mark, before being toppled by Lexington
Catholic on January 2nd 32-29.
They completed their season's work with a
16-3 record, led by Alex Trentman with 195
points scored. He also led the team from
beyond the arc, hitting on 14 long-range
bombs. The 6'4" forward, who we
nicknamed "Slinky" led the team in blocked
shots, swatting 15 opponent's field-goal
attempts, and was our "Chairman of the
Boards" grabbing 68 rebounds. Jake
Jennings was the team's assist leader, setting up 34 Mustang scorers. Erik Rieger led
the team from the free-throw line, connecting on 27 of 34 charity tosses, a 79.4%
pace. Erik Rieger led the team in thefts.
The team finishes the season with a 16-3 mark in Coach Scott Code's first season with
the Brossart JVs.
