| DID YOU KNOW.......... THAT THE 1997-98 MUSTANGS LOST THEIR FIRST TWO GAMES UNDER NEW HEAD COACH WILLIE SCHLARMAN? THE FIRST LOSS WAS TO PARIS 87-81 AND THE SECOND TO CAMPBELL COUNTY 61-54. FOLLOWING THOSE TWO LOSSES THE MUSTANGS WENT 28-5, INCLUDING 12 STRAIGHT WINS, FINISHING THEIR SEASON IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME OF THE 10TH REGION TOURNAMENT VERSUS FLEMING COUNTY WHO FINISHED THEIR SEASON IN THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE STATE TOURNAMENT IN RUPP ARENA.. |
| The St. Mary Mustangs won their very first game ever on February 5, 1956, defeating St. Patrick 62-56. Trailing 24-22 at the half the Mustangs would outscore the then "Paddies" 40-32 in the second half to win the game and break a 26 game losing streak. The game was played at Dale Elementery School in Highland Heights. |
| Former Head Coach Willie Schlarman was 10th Region Coach of the Year in 2000 and 10th Region Class "A" Coach of the Year in 2001, 2003, and 2004. He is the winningest coach in the history of our program with a record of 141-76. He has coached more games than any other coach in the history of our program - 217 (Tom Seither 204, Don Fangman 175) and holds the highest win percentage at 64.9% (Tommy Creamer 61.4% and Bob Seiter, Jr. 58.9%) |

| Coach Mike Code has just completed his third year as the head coach of the Brossart Mustangs. His present Win-Loss Percentage of 75.6% is best among all Brossart coaches. He has been named the 10th Region Class "A" Coach of the Year all three seasons, the KABC 10th Region Coach of the Year and the NKCA Division II Coach of the Year in 2007. Prior to taking over as Mustangs head coach in 2004 he had served two seasons as varsity assistant to Willie Schlarman. |
