The first thing that you will probably observe in visiting this page is that the photos that appear here aren't the normal sharp, crisp, professional grade photography that we have come to expect from Tim Cooper.
There is a very good reason for this - Tim Cooper didn't take them - I did with my "old-fashioned" 35mm using a telephoto lens that didnt' perform well under the low light conditions that existed -again.

As feared, the Brossart first-year Mustang Footballers, operating behind first-time quarterback John Tallarigo, were overpowered in the first half by the 4-A Scott County Cardinals, who opened up a 38-0 lead by intermission.
The first clue that they might be bigger was the fact that their entourage arrived from Georgetown in two busses.  Shortly thereafter our Mustangs were introduced to size personified by the Scott County offensive and defensive lines.
Trailing 7-0, the Mustangs missed out on a golden opportunity to get on the board in the first half when Ryne Heck returned a Scott County punt 67 yards to the two yard line, where two plays later the Mustangs fumbled away the football and their chances for a first half score.
First string quarterback Andrew Heeg, and starting center Nick
Bezold watched the game from the sidelines along with Josh
Anderson who is out for the season recovering from shoulder
surgery.  Heeg expects to recover from his broken ankle in time
to finish out the season.  Bezold will have an MRI done on
Wednesday to determine the extent of damage to his knee.  It is
feared that he may have torn his ACL.
Also on the sidelines today was Number 55, Joe Gross, who
attended the game and supported the team despite the death of his
dad, John this past Thursday.  Little brother Danny was at his post,
filling water bottles and supplying the team, as he has in the
Mustangs' first two encounters.  The football game was probably
good therapy for the Gross boys who will face an extremely trying
day today and in the weeks ahead.  John would have been proud
that his boys participated in the game, attempting to maintain some
semblance of normalacy through these tough times.
Coach Ollier was proud of his team's efforts, especially in the
second half when we played an even-up half at 7-7.  He felt that
his team matured and showed some character going toe to toe with the veteran Cardinals throughout that second half
He described John Tallarigo's efforts at quarterback as being a "gutsy performance."
Up until this week Heeg took the majority of snaps at practice, and John had to adjust to the role of being the team's starting
quarterback on short notice and then playin his first game at that position against Scott County.
The coach felt that the team might have been a bit intimidated by the overall size and numbers of the Cardinals in the first half and didn't play to their potential.
Ryne Heck, who missed the first game of the season against Holy Cross, emerged in the Scott County game as
an impact player, running back the aforementioned punt 67 yards and teaming up with Tallarigo to score a touchdown on a 30 yard pass play.  Brett Moss successfully converted his fourth consecutive extra-point, following Heck's score.
The Mustangs will continue to run with the big dogs this coming Saturday at Boone County, in a game scheduled to kick-off at 10am.
