MEET THE 2006 VARSITY MUSTANGS Juniors and Sophomores
Junior Third Baseman #15 - Jarod Arnold Ht-5'11" Wt-170 Bats-Right Throws-Right Jarod Arnold has impressed the Mustangs coaching staff with his ability to get hits under the toughest of conditions this spring. In a scrimmage at LexCath and a game vs Henry Clay, Jarod delivered base hits in both. In addition to being a fine hitter, he is getting a chance to earn some valuable QPT as an infielder as well. Jarod batted .291 for the JVs last season.
Junior Pitcher #16 - Nathan Mutsch Ht-6'5" Wt-225 Bats-Right Throws-Right Nathan Mutsch will serve as the ace of the Mustang pitching corps this spring. He is an accomplishd hurler who has been invited to a New York Yankee's tryout camp in early June. Last year for the varsity Mustangs he pitched 29.33 innings, with an ERA of 1.67, striking out 23. Nathan also pitched his AA Knothole team to the City Championship. Look for a big season out of the Mustang's big right-hander.

Junior Infielder #23 - Ryne Heck Ht-6'2" Wt-170 Bats-Right Throws-Right Ryne Heck is another who has been around the game all of his life. He hit .375 in 80 plate appearances for the JV team last season, leading the team in hits with 30 and RBIs at 24. Ryne will work to find his nitche with this year's varsity Mustangs but don't be surprised if he isn't firmly implanted in the Mustangs lineup come tournament time.
Junior Catcher #24 - Kyle Kramer Ht-6'0" Wt-175 Bats-Right Throws-Right One of the finest catchers in Northern Kentucky and the 10th Region and perhaps the best to ever wear Mustang green. Kyle possesses a gun for a throwing arm and few opposing runners challange his abilty to throw them out. Kramer is on fire at the plate at the season's outset going 3 for 3 in a recent game against Boone County. This is Kramer's second year as a varsity starter behind the dish. Last year he made 81 plate appearances and connected on 23 hits which included 3 doubles, a triple, and a round-tripper.
Sophomores
Sophomore Infielder #12 - Curtis Ruberg Ht-5'6" Wt-125 Bats-Right Throws-Right Curtis Ruberg is an excellent second baseman, with the unenviable task of playing behind Jimmy Uebel at that position. Curtis will show up everyday with a great attitude, ready to play and contribute as needed. The majority of his playing time will be at the JV level, but he will probably see some running assignments come his way with the big guys when playing with the varsity. Last year as a freshmen Curtis made 14 plate appearances with the JVs where he will be one of their primary players this season.
Junior 2nd Baseman/Pitcher #33 - Jimmy Uebel Ht-6'2" Wt-175 Bats-Right Throws-Right Jimmy Uebel is blessed with the talent to be a three sport star moving progressively from Soccer to Basketball to Baseball. Jimmy has already been named All-State in Soccer and Honorable Mention All 10th Region in Basketball with his Junior baseball season still ahead of him. Jimmy figures to be one of major cogs in the Mustangs pitching corps this season, but has been bothered by a sore arm early in the campaign. Uebel saw action in 32.33 innings of varsity play last season, earning the best win-loss ratio on the team at 5-1, while maintaining an ERA of 2.38. Jimmy made 35 appearances at the plate, contributing 9 hits, including 3 doubles.
Sophomore Outfield/1st Base #18 - Evan Harris Ht-5'11" Wt-190 Bats-Right Throws-Right Evan is relatively unknown. He made two plate appearances with the JVs last season without collecting a hit and primarily played with the freshmen team. He will get the majority of his playing time this spring with the JV team. FURTHER INFORMATION NOT AVAILABLE
Sophomore Outfield #30 - Jeremy Beckerich Ht-6'0" Wt-210 Bats-Right Throws-Right J.B is also relatively unknown. He played strictly with the freshmen team in 2005 and will primarily with the JV team this spring. FURTHER INFORMATION NOT AVAILABLE
