Mustangs Win Season Opener 66-34 Over Silver Grove
Drew Kremer Leads Ten Mustang Scorers With 16 Points - Rieger Adds 14
The 2008-09 Brossart Mustangs dispatched the Silver Grove Big Trains 66-34 in the Stangs' initial outing on Thursday
night in Silver Grove.
Brossart led 14-6 after a period of play and extended thier lead to 26-14 despite a poor shooting night from the field by
Jacob Rieger, who struggled to hit one of his eleven attempts from the field
Silver Grove prompted a Mike Code time-out shortly into the third period as Silver Grove scored the first two baskets out
of the gate, cutting the Mustang lead to 26-18, but that would be as close as the Trains would come on this night.
Brossart finished out the quarter with a 17 -8 advantage, pushing the lead out to 43-22 and rolled to the 66-34 opening
night win.
Drew Kremer led all scorers with 16 points and a few impressive rebounds, while Jacob Rieger regained his shooting
touch in the second half to finish with 14 points on the night.  Mitch Patterson hit his first 3-Point goal attempt of the
game and went on to finish with 8 points including a second long-range bomb.  The Mustangs collectively went 15 of 20
from the charity stripe.

Freshmen Mustangs Impressive In 69-17 Win Over D-III Ludlow
All 12 Fresmen Mustangs Put Ink In Scorebook - Led by Fardo and Hinkel with 12 Each
Our freshmen Mustangs made it two wins in three nights, blitzing the Ludlow Panthers last
night in Ludlow by a 69-17 score, putting their second ball of the young season on the wall
against no losses.
Zach Fardo set the tone by burying his first  3-point effort of the night on the team's first
possession of the game and the Mustangs never looked back.
The Stangs led 22-7 after one period and extended the lead to 35-9 at halftime.  It was
52-13 after three as Coach Mike Schack used his bench liberally throughout  the second half.

All twelve freshmen Mustangs scored in this one, and were led by Fardo and Austin Hinkel
with 12 points apiece and our Kevin McHale look-alike, Joe Jennings adding 8.
