It was all Brossart in the home opener last night as Joey Webb had his shooting shoes on, lighting up the Pendleton County
Wildcats five times to lead all scorers with 15 points.
In the first quarter Webb, Justin Morscher, and Jordan Armstrong all connected from beyond the arc, while Jacob Rieger tacked
on three from in-close as the Mustangs blew out to a 16-4 first quarter lead and never looked back. By halftime the Stangs had
opened up a 20 point lead at 37-17, outscoring the Cats 21-13 in the second frame as Webb recorded 3-point goals number two and
three, and would spark another 20 point quarter in the third period with long-ball four and five.
Drew Kremer, Brian Wolfer, Justin Morscher, and Jacob Rieger all came up big again on the scoreboard, combining for 38 points.
Unfortunately the quality of play deteriorated badly in the second half due to a condensation issue on the playing surface.

Coach Curtis Bezold ushered in a new era of Mustang JV basketball,
winning the first game of his career, a 34-33 double overtime win over the
visiting Pendleton County Wildcats.
The first quarter was played for 5 minutes, 50 seconds with the Mustangs
leading 2-0, before Mason Wood hit a free-throw to put his team on the
board that was quickly answered by a John Schack bucket at the buzzer
making it a 4-1 Mustang advantage after one.
When the Mustangs extended the lead to 9-1 it appeared that the home
team was enroute to an easy win. However, PCo rallied for 12 second
quarter points to trim the Brossart lead to 14-13 at intermission.
The was tied at 26 at the end of regulation and the Stangs dodged a major
bullet when the Cats missed two free-throws and the game tied with 3
seconds to go in OT.
Brossart took advantage in the second OT, outscoring the Cats 8-7 to put
the first JV ball of the season on the wall.
