The tone was set early -  Brossart ran two minutes off of the clock before taking a shot, and the first points weren't put on the board until Holy Cross's Shina Giwa scored a bucket with 3:14 to play in the first quarter and then extended their lead to 4-0 at the 2:50 mark.  It took until the 39 second mark of the first quarter before Jordan Armstrong scored the Stangs only points of the first quarter, that ended with the Tribe on top 4-2.
An offensive explosion which saw each team surge for 8 points apiece led to a 12-10 Holy Cross halftime lead.  Giwa was responsible for 8 of the visitors' 12 first half points.  The halftime score
was not a surprise to the fans of the Holy Cross defense, which saw the Indians on top 9-6 at the break against Ryle.
Brossart managed to even the score at the end of the third period 20-20 by outscoring the Tribe 10-8 as neither team could manage more than a four point advantage at any point in the first three quarters of play.  During that third period, Drew Kremer scored six points, which would be the harbinger of things to come in the final stanza.
When the Indians' Eric Sullivan scored a quick basket at the onset of the fourth period, the Tribe led 22-20, but that was the last lead that the Indians would enjoy, as the Brossart Mustangs, with Drew Kremer taking over the game, went on a 15-0 run.  Kremer would score 9 more points in the fourth quarter, to finish with 17 of the Mustangs 35 points on the night.
Neither team was able to hit a three-point basket in the game, nor did Holy Cross shoot a free-throw in this classic battle..
Shina Giwa led the Indians with 10 points on the night and Keith Egan added 6.  On the Mustangs side of the ledger Jacob Rieger complimented Drew Kremer's performance with 9, and Jordan Armstrong tacked on 6 points.
If you were not in attendance, this might sound like an extremely boring event, but if you were there you know better.
It was actually a very exciting, ask-and-answer contest that wasn't decided until the Mustangs ran away and hid in the fourth quarter.
The Mustangs improve to 11-2 on the season and 2-0 in the NKAC Division II conference race.
