| The Brossart Mustangs Freshmen gained some valuable experience, but took a 42-36 loss at the hands of the Lexington Catholic Knights, one of the primere freshmen programs in the state on the road in Lexington on Monday night. The Mustangs trailed by only a point at 10-9 after the first quarter of play, but fell behind 28-17 at halftime, as the Knights flexed some muscle in the second quarter putting 15 points on the board, with six of those coming from blue-chipper, Craig Floyd, who would score 19 points on the night to lead all scorers. Brossart outscored the Knights 19-17 in the second half but the damage had been done in the first half, as the Knights prevailed 42-36. The Mustangs best offense was via the free-throw line where the Stangs connected on 20 of 31 from the charity stripe. Trevor Bezold led the Mustangs with 10 points, Zach Fardo added 7, all from the free-throw line, and Austin Hinkel played a great game with 8 points and a bunch of rebounds. |

| JV's Succumb To LexCatholic 43-28 - Knights Narrow Series Gap To 5-2
The JVs played much the same kind of game as did the freshmen. Travis Norton had the hot hand early, netting a pair of long-range 3-point goals, giving the Stangs an early 6-0 lead, but failed to persevere as the homestanding Knights scored the next 8 points, giving them an 8-6 lead which they would never relinquish. The Knights led 11-8 after six minutes and extended their lead to 23-15 at the half. The Mustang offense stalled out in the third quarter as free-throws by John Schack and Daniel Schultz would equal the sum total of the Mustangs scoring output in the period, digging the Stangs an insurmountable 35-17 deficit, which would convert to a final score of 43-28, tagging the JV Mustangs with their 4th loss against a pair of wins.
