Our Mustangs learned first-hand what everyone in the state pretty much has conceded - that the Mason County Royals are arguably the best team in the state and one of the top teams in the nation.
Mason County ran out to a 19-0 lead before the Zack Hertzenberg broke the ice with a field goal and at the end of the first period our guys trailed 23-4.
We improved our offensive output in the second period, putting 12 points on the Fieldhouse scoreboard and found themselves trailing 42-16 at halftime.
The Mustangs continued to battle valiantly throughout the third quarter, adding 13 more points to the team tally, as the Royals countered with 16, making it a 58-29 ballgame, with a period to play.
Treg Setty, a freshman who saw action in the JV MCIT in the morning, came from off the bench to score 8 points in the fourth quarter as the Royals finished off our Mustangs with a 71-36 victory - their 13th of the season.
Drew Kremer led the Mustangs last night with ten points

Bears, opening up a quick 17-2 first quarter advantage, and then rolled to a
61-29 opening round win in the 2008 Mason County Invitational Tournament
in the Fieldhouse.
Joey Webb nailed three long-balls in the first quarter, Jordan Armstrong
connected on a pair, and Justin Morscher, and Zach Hertzenberg each
contributed one each as the Mustangs sunk a total of 7 three-pointers in the

Webb led eleven Mustangs in the contest, and Tyler Jefferson matched his
effort on the Polar Bears side of the ledger.
With the win, the Mustangs improve to 7-5 on the season and will face
