Mustangs Find There's No Place Like Home, Cruise To 73-39 Win
The Brossart Mustangs continued their dominance over the very young, but agressive Pendleton County Wildcats 73-39 as the Mustangs put up seven more three-points goals in a game that saw Joey Webb increase his long-range bombs total to 22 on the

season, with three on the night, as part of a 11 point game. Drew Kremer was the recipient of four run-out baskets in the second quarter paving the way to his game-high 17 point performance. Greg Stortz put up 10 points and a bunch of rebounds as the Mustangs broke open a 10-6 first quarter advantage by going on an 11-0 run providing the Mustangs with a 21-8 first quarter lead, which expanded to 44-20 at the half, and 57-28 after three quarters before posting our eighth win of the season 73-39.
The Pendleton County Wildcat JV team seem to have our guys number, defeating them for the second time this season, by a sum total of six points. Last night our JVs threatened on several occasions to break the game open, opening up a quick 6-0 lead. before the Cats responded with an 11-5 run of their own to tie the game at the 3:13 point in the second quarter, and took the lead at 19-17 by halftime. Brossart rallied out of the locker room to retake the lead and open up a seven point advantage at 28-21, but again the Cats used one of their nine lives to cut the Musangs lead to 28-26 at the end of the third period and put a nose back in front at 29-28 and then connect on three consecutive 3-pointers to extend the gap to 35-30. Brossart battled back to cut the PC lead to 35-34, but then went cold for three minutes as the Cats blew out to a seemingly insurmountable 42-34 lead under a minute, when the

Mustangs unleashed a furious rally, cutting the Cats lead to 42-40 with Tanner Florence at the line shooting one-bonus with 8.9 to go in the game. Florence connected on both ends of the bonus giving the Cats a two-possession lead and a 44-40 win. Our JVs played without the services of the freshmen who were sent home following their game to study up for their Wednesday exams.
The Mustangs freshmen annexed the lidlifter 44-28 over their Pendleton County counterparts. Travis Norton led all scorers in the contest with 18 points, including four three-point goals. I didn't get a chance to copy down the freshmen box score, but I remember the Mustangs opening up a big lead after a quarter, and turning back the Cats just following halftime.
