Drew Kramer led 10 Mustangs scorers with a
career high 19 points, in defeating Calvary
Christian 68-42 in a district seeding game last
night in Taylor Mill.
Greg Stortz and Jacob Rieger both added
double figure perfromances, with 12 and 11
points respectively.
Brossart outscored their homestanding
opponents in each period, 19-11, 16-7, 14-10,
and 19-15.
No Calvary Christian Cougar scored in
double figures.
The play of the night might have been a miss
- Jacob Rieger executed a third quarter
move that Adam Franzen called "utterly sick"
(interpretation for old folks - "spectacular"
and brought back memories of a Nathan
Seiter move to the basket back in the 1998
10th Region Championship Game. that made
us sit way back in our chairs in awe.
Unfortunately, after the major move, Reiger
failed to finish the shot.
In an area where the '08 Mustangs outshine
the guys from '07, Brossart sunk seven
three-point goals.
Our Mustangs  appear to be making major
strides in becoming a good basketball team.
We will be tested at Highlands on Saturday
night when the Mustangs invade the Russell
Bridges Memorial Gymnasium for a
tripleheader with the high-flying Bluebirds.

The Brossart Mustangs freshmen fell victim to
"play like them" throughout the first twelve
minutes of the game trailing 13-12 at
intermission.  The guys in green  complete
pulled a complete reversal of form in the third
period, outscoring their Calvary counterparts
23-7, paving the way to a 51-35 37th District
seeding win over the homestanding Cougars.
The 37th Freshmen Tournament brackets are
now established with Campbell County to play
Calvary in the top bracket and Brossart to face
Scott later on in the first week in February.
The freshmen Mustangs were led by Travis
Norton with 12 points and John Schack with
10.
