| Mustangs Close Out '07 Home Schedule With 65-31 Win Over Newport On Senior Night |
| The Brossart Mustangs put on a defensive exhibition for the home folks on Tuesday night in the final home game of the season as they defeated NKAC Division II Conference opponent Newport 65-31 on Senior Night. The win gives the Mustangs the undefeated NKAC Division II Championship and improves our overall season record to 24-3 as they swept the '07 home schedule. The Stangs were led by Troy Cooper with 24 points, giving the Mustang big man 969 on his career. Bryan Niemeyer contributed 13 as the only other Mustang double figure scorer. |
| A total of ten Mustangs put ink in the scorebook as Matt Woeste scored his first ever varsity points late in the game. Brossart jumped out to an 18-6 first period lead and never looked back, taking a 33-12 lead to the locker room at halftime, and 50-19 after three quarters when the plug was pulled and next year's varsity took over. Congratulations to Matt Woeste who scored his first varsity points in this game. | Mustang JVs Prevail 50-40 In A Game Of Momentum Swings |
| In the six o'clock varsity game our JVs ran out to an 11-0 lead after six mnutes of play only to see the Wildcats go on an 11-0 run of their own tying the game at 11. Mitch Patterson knocked down a three pont goal, giving the Mustangs a 14-11 lead which they would not relinquish, leading 18-15 at the half and 34-21 after three quarters before posting the 50-40 win. The JVs improve to 13-8 on the season with two games yet to play in the JV season.
