Cooper and Uebel Combine For 47 Points
As Mustangs Improve To 25-4
Uebel Sets New Personal Standard And Troy Cooper Gets A Grand
For the second time in three years the Brossart Mustangs have knocked off the top ranked team in Northern Kentucky on their senior night.  Back in 2005 McDole and Company beat the homestanding Colonels by sixteen and on Friday night the All "A" State Champs
the All "A" State Champs showed that they could defeat the big dawgs too knocking off the 9th Region's top team 63-56.
CovCath opened the game red hot hitting four three-point goals in taking a 15-13 lead after a period of play.  CovCath pushed out to a 21-15 lead at the 5:40 mark in the second
quarter before the Mustangs rallied to cut the gap to 31-30 at the half.
Jimmy Uebel, who saved his best stuff for the regular season finale put up 11 points in the first half and 28 on the night.
CovCath once again pushed their lead to six points 47-41with 2:10 to play in the third quarter, but once again the Mustangs cut the lead to one, trailing 47-46 with eight minutes to play.  Only two Mustangs scored in the third period - Jimmy Uebel put up 10, and Troy Cooper 6.
Brossart pulled even at 49 early in the fourth quarter and took the lead for good at the 3:59 minute mark, poking a nose in front at 53-52.  We would connect on 9 of 12 free-throws in the fourth period while CovCath who had previously hit on 12 of 13, could only muster 1 of 6 down the stretch.  On the night Brossart was 22 of 27 and CovCath 13 of 19 from the charity stripe.
Troy Cooper, who needed 18 points for 1,000 career points, scored 19 points on the night and became the fourteenth Mustang ever to reach this milestone.  When he scored his 19th point on the night he moved into the 13th spot on the all-time scoring leader list, bypassing Rodney Sendelbach who had 1,000 career points.
The Mustangs now improve to 25-4 on the season and have beaten the CovCath Colonels in three of our last four meetings.
