The Mustangs continued on what would be an 11-0 run in the early minutes of the second half, expanding their six point halftime lead to 33-24 and went on to lead by as many as twenty points at 59-39, before posting the 59-41, eighteen point win.

As Casey Sorrell Hits 11th Hour Three-Pointer To Spoil Mustangs Perfect Season
The Brossart and Holy Cross freshmen hooked up in one of the more exciting freshmen games ever played in the friendly confines of the SyDome.
After spotting the Indians a 7-0 first quarter lead, the Mustangs battled back to make it a 9-6 Holy Cross advantage at the end of the period.
Brossart caught the Indians at 13-13 and put a nose in front at 16-15 with 1:31 in the half.  The Mustangs would maintain the one point lead 21-20 at halftime.
Things looked to be under control after three quarters as the Mustangs led 32-28.  A series of mid-fourth quarter passing errors allowed the Indians to get back into the game.  A Jordan Armstrong basket gave the Stangs a 45-44 lead with just seconds to go  and appeared to be the
game winner when Casey Sorrell administered the coup de grace with a coffin corner 3 point goal to give Holy Cross the 47-45 NKAC Division II win.  Rieger-Armstrong combined for 30 Mustangs points.
