Mustangs Dispatch Calvary Christian In Handy Fashion 66-31 To Advance To 10th Region All "A" Classic Finals |
Brossart appeared to be at the top of our game in dispatching the Calvary Christian Cougars 66-31 in the Friday night semi-finals, earning them a berth in the 10th Region "A" Championship game against the Bracken County Polar Bears who felled the Augusta Panthers 59-56 in the second semi-finals gate. The Mustangs opened up a narrow 14-9 lead after 8 minutes of play and extended it to 31-16 by halftime. Kyle Kramer was absolutely brilliant in this contest, feeding Troy Cooper with pin-point passes that converted to three early Cooper baskets. KK also had a myriad of steals and deflections in serving as our "consumate catalyst." Twelve Mustangs put ink in the scorebook in this one. Troy Cooper led the Stangs with 14 points despite playing just over half of the basketball game. Jimmy Uebel scored 11 points, the majority of which came off of slashing drives initiated from the right wing and Luke Rebholz matched Jimmy's scoring output by knocking down two three-point goals and a pair of twos plus a free-throw. Our other double figure scorers was Bryan Niemeyer who scored ten points in the middle two stanzas. Congratulations to both Drew Kremer and Joey Webb on scoring their first ever varsity points in last night's game. |
