The Mustangs took advantage of their first game in the last five that wasn't against a twenty game winner, flexing some post-season muscle, while tying the school record for most wins in a season, by winning their twenty-eighth game, a 58-34 decision over the Mt. Olivet Deming Black Devils. The Mustangs jumped out to an early 13-6 lead and extended it to 35-17 at the half after outscoring the "men in black" 22-11 in the second period. The second half was a formality as a total of eleven Mustangs put ink in the scorebook, led by Troy Cooper, with 15 points. Coop is just five points away from moving into the number twelve spot on the Brossart/St. Mary career scorers list. Josh Kidney scored 9 points and Jimmy Uebel and Nathan Mutsch contributed 7 apiece. Billy Graves led the Devils with 11 points. |
