Mustangs Beat West Carter The Giant Killers 49-42 To Advance To A.I.T. Championship Game
The Brossart Mustangs dug themselves an 0-8 hole early in the game, but dug themselves out by the 4:22 mark in the second period when Brad Seiter connected on a pair of free-throws to give the Mustangs a 13-12 lead which we would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.  Much like the Russell Red Devils who would not go away, the West Carter Comets would make a game of it all the way to the wire.
Brossart enjoyed several seven point leads at 21-14, 25-18, 31-24, 35-28, 39-32, and a single 9 point lead at 41-32 but could never break the double-figure barrier.  The Comets cut the Mustangs lead to 46-42 under forty seconds but seniors Brad Seiter and Adam Franzen nailed a pair of free-throws apiece to hold off the upset minded Comets and land the Mustangs in the Championship Game of the A.I.T. in our first-ever appearance.
Josh Kidney, Brad Seiter, and Troy Cooper all led the Mustangs with 10 points apiece, and Kyle Lubbers added
9 while West Carter's Superstar Kalen Jones led all
scorers with 18 points.
Jimmy Uebel was sick all of Tuesday night and
Wednesday and appeared to be a no-go an hour and a half before game time.  He managed to muster the
strength to suitup and played a whale of a defensive game
on Kalen Jones, who scored 32 points Tuesday night
against Bryan Station.  In additon to being sick all day,
Jimmy sustained a head gash late in the game which
required seven stiches to close.
The Mustangs who hit 30 of 44 free throws Tuesday could muster only 15 of 32 last night.

Box Score:  Kidney 3-0-4/8-10, Seiter 1-1-5/5-10,
                 Franzen 0-0-2/4-2, Lubbers 4-0-1/2-9,

   Total Mustangs:  15-1-15/32-48      6-2   1-1
   Total Comets:     12-3- 9/15 -42
