| Adam Franzen Snuffs Out Big Train Threat With 3-Point Goal Barrage As Mustangs Advance To 10th "A" Finals |
| Silver Grove served notice that they had upset on their mind, running out to an early 10-2 first period lead which consumed two Mike Code time-outs in an effort to turn the tide, but it wasn't until Senior Guard Adam Franzen checked in that momentum jumped right into his uniform with him and Franzen spearheaded a 15-0 Mustang run by nailing three consecutive 3-Point Goals pushing the Mustangs into the lead 17-10 at the end of the first period. Justin Pelle responded with a personal 7-0 Big Train run of his own, before Franzen got the Mustangs off of 17 |
| with a baseline basket and then scored an encore 3 putting the Mustangs on top for good. Franzen led all scorers with 14 points at the break as the Mustangs enjoyed a 34-23 bulge with 16 minutes remaining before they completed the second step in their seven step program to become A State Champs. The Mustangs delivered a patented big third period putting the Big Trains on ice with a 21-4 outburst, pushing their lead out to a 55-27 lead, bringing the JV starting five in to finish up the night's work for the Brossart Mustangs varsity. |
