Mustangs Advance To A.I.T.
Semi-Finals With 59-45 Win
Over Russell
The Brossart Mustangs opened up a quick 8-0 lead and held the Russell Red Devils to five points, all scored by their superstar Jonathan Vanhoose, in the first period.  The home team rallied to knot the score at 11 with 4:02 in the second quarter and traded punches until the Mustangs established a three point lead at 19-16 and never looked back.  The Stangs opened up a 25-18 lead at halftime, which became 40-29 after three quarters and the Mustangs would connect on 16 of 23 free throws in the fourth quarter to preserve the win over the top ranked team in the 16th Region, who are fresh off of winning the AA State Football Championship.
   Jimmy Uebel nailed a pair of threes in the first half and Josh
Kidney added three field goals to help propel the Stangs to their
halftime advantage and Troy Cooper and Brad Seiter combined
for 13 points from the free throw line in the second half as the
Mustangs hit on 30 of 44 from the charity stripe for the
contest.
   Brad Seiter led all scorers with 17 points and Troy Cooper,
who had only put up two at the break, and Jimmy Uebel added 11 apiece as the Mustangs improve to 5-2 and will play West
Carter, who pulled a huge upset over Bryan Station, on Wednesday night at 7pm.  West Carter was led by Kalen Jones who scored 32 points.
   Broadcast time for the Brossart-West Carter Game will be at 6:50pm.
