JVs Set The Tone With 43-20 Victory
Calvary Christian High School is truly between a rock and
a hard place.  In order to play local competiton and not be
restricted exclusively to Christian School opponents, the
Cougars some years ago joined the KHSAA.  By joining the
KHSAA they have gravitated into the 37th District of the
10th Region.  When the 37th District voted to seed, it
required them to play each team in the district which has
led to a 87-47 loss to Campbell County, a 78-49 thumping
by Scott, and last night's 85-33 dismantling by our
Mustangs in a game that really wasn't that close.  It is the
price that Calvary pays to play a Division III schedule that
includes Heritage Academy, Villa Madonnna, Bellevue,
Dayton and other schools with whom they are more
competitive.  The Mason County Fieldhouse and the 10th
Region Tournament are only mere rumors at the Taylor
Mill private school.

The Mustangs defense held the Cougars to 10 points for
the entire first half building a 45-10 halftime lead and 19
for three quarters with our JVs firmly implanted in the
lineup for the final 2:12 of the first half and from the 3:57
mark on in the third quarter as the Mustangs ran out to a
71-19 lead after three periods.

Brossart placed thirteen Mustangs in the scoring column,
paced by Troy Cooper with 15 points, Jimmy Uebel with
14, Bryan Niemeyer with 11, and Kyle Lubbers with 10.
Ben Ridder and Matthew Hansman scored their first-ever
varsity points with 3 each.

The Cougars were led by Mark Barnforth with 10 points.

The JVs put eight Mustangs in the scoring column enroute
to a 43-20 victory.
