Mustangs JVs Lose To McNick On Late Game Free-Throw 36-35 Stangs Battle Back From 27-33 with 1:39 Tie Game at 35 Then Watch Hopelessly As Kevin Jacobson Sinks Gamewinner with 5.1 To Play
The Mustang and McNick JVs battled to a 5-3 first quarter with the advantage to Brossart. When Kyle Kramer hit his second 3-pointer of the half it was suddenly KK-8 and McNick-3. Seeing how nothing comes easy in this world, the Rockets scored the next six points of the game to take a 9-8 lead and the two teams were on the see-saw through much of the first half which ended with the Stangs on top16-13 at intermission. Brossart would extend their lead to 18-13 on a Matthew Hansman bucket to start the second half but again McNick would fight back to cut the Stangs lead to 25-24 after three complete. The Rockets wolud use the free-throw line to take advantage of Mustangs personals to open a 33-27 lead 1:39 out, but just as in the LaSalle game, we would battle back to make it a game, outscoring the visitors 6-0 in the waning moments with the big blow being a Bryan Niemeyer 3 off of the steal of a Rocket's inbounds pass. McNick played for the final shot but a foul on a steal attempt sent Kevin Jacobson to the line who missed the first and then sealed the deal by hitting the second. The Mustangs continue to play without the services of Luke Rebholz who is nursing a sprained ankle. The Mustangs fall to 4-3. Box Score: Lloyd 0-0-0/1-0, Ruberg 1-0-0/0-2, Niemeyer 4-1-2/2-13, Kramer 2-2-1/1-11, Hansman 3-0-3/3-9 Total Mustangs: 10-3- 6/7 -35 4-2 1-1 Total Rockets: 12-1-9/20-36

Minis Battle But Fail To Overcome Size and Stature of I.H.M. Crusaders Fall 27-21
The Mini-Mustangs, playing without the services of their St. Joseph Bluejays 8th Grade Team counterparts, came up short to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Crusaders 27-21. The J's were tuning up for a key St. Mary Tournament matchup tonight vs Our Lady of Victory. I.H.M opened a first quarter 9-7 lead which became a 14-8 halftime lead as the Minis could muster only one point in the second period. Hot shooting by John Walerius and Tyler Batche allowed the Mustangs to narrow the Cru lead to 21-18 after three quarters but the Mustang rally fizzled out in the final period as the locals were outscored 6-3 giving the gang from I.H.M. the victory. Box Score: Wolfe 0-0-2/2-2, Kramer 2-0-0/0-4, Walerius 2-1-0/0-7, Steffen 0-0-1/2-1, Batsche 1-1-1/2-6, Kroger 0-0-1/2-1 Total Mustangs: 5-2-5/7-21 2-2 Total Crusaders: 8-2-5/9-27
