Mustangs Improve To 4-1 With
39-28 Win Over Pendleton County

Minis Come Up Short 30-26 To Wildcat 8th Graders
Coming off of their huge win over NKAC rival St. Henry just over 24 hours prior, the Mustang Freshmen came out a bit flat and played a half like them instead of like us, before becoming untracked and pulling away with an improved effort in the second half.
The two teams were deadlocked at 7 apiece at the first quarter stop and remained tied at the half at 15-up.  The Mustangs would assert themselves in the second half, by executing better and finishing their shots, running out to a 27-21 advantage off of a major Joe Webb three-banger just ahead of the buzzer ending the third period.  The Stangs would outscore PC 13-7 in the fourth period hitting on 9 of 13 late game free throws to hang their fourth ball of the young season on the wall, prior to their cross-town engagement with Campbell County on Friday.  Remember the name Doug Lambert of PCo who accounted for 20 of the Cats 28 points.

Minis Fail To Overcome PCo's Dillon Greene and Zone Defense
Fall 30-26
The Mini-Mustangs fell prey to the 8th Grade Pendleton Wildcats, a 3-2 zone, and #32 Dillon Greene last night in the opening end of the Minis-Freshmen doubleheader.
Outscored 2-6 in the opening period the Mini-Mustangs would rally in the second quarter  outscoring the visitors 9-5 on a pair of Clay Mefford 3-balls to knot the score at 11 at intermission.
Led by manchild Dillon Greene, the third quarter belonged to the Cats as they outscored the home team 12-6 with Greene producing five points enroute to a 19 point night.  The Stangs would outscore the Cats 9-7 in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough to pull out the victory on this night.  The Stangs outscored the Cats 17-16 from the field but PCo converted 11 of 22 from the charity stripe vs 6 of 8 for the Stangs which provided the margain of victory.
The Minis fall to 1-1 on the season and will get a chance for revenge from the Cats in a repeat match later in the season.
