Brett Reilly has just concluded a basketball career that almost never was.  Already involved in soccer and baseball, Brett probably would have not tried out for freshmen basketball were it not for the encouragement of his mom.  For that we will be eternally grateful.  It is hard to imagine the Brossart Basketball program without the bright smile, quick wit, and encouraging words of Brett Reilly.

Reilly took the Scotty Ruth road to success.  While he had experienced some success during his grade school years, he had also toiled on "B" teams which were considered inferior to the teams which competed in the Campbell County Parochial League.

At him mom's insistence Brett attended tryouts for the freshmen team just hoping to make the squad.  But, as they say, the cream always rises to the top and Brett Reilly not only made the freshmen team, but became its starting point guard, leading the unit to a twenty game winning season, and a runner-up finish in the 10th Region Tournament.

Brett Reilly has always combined a strong blue-collar work ethic, superior intelligence, and exceptional quickness and athleticism to make a contribution to whichever team he is a member.
High school has been good to Brett Reilly.  As a freshman, Brett became the starting centerfielder for the varsity baseball team and will always be remembered for patrolling the yard when the Mustangs played in their very first-ever All "A" Classic Tournament game at Applebee's Field in Lexington, home of the Legends.  Brett not only patrolled it with authority but ran down what looked like an impossible shot to left-center saving a game in that same tournament.

In the recently concluded Soccer season, Brett was a starter on the Regional Championship Mustangs Soccer squad and was named the team's top defensive player.  With his senior baseball season still ahead of him Brett Reilly will look to captain a team that will compete for a regional title as either the team's catcher or centerfielder.

Brett has always exemplified the theory of "Giving up a little of what you are as an individual as a player for what we can become together as a team" both last year and again this season when Junior Lefthander Brad Seiter emerged as a major contributor at the guard spot further eroding Brett Reilly playing time minutes.

Brett was sincerely happy to be able to contribute in whatever way necessary for the overall wellbeing of the team.
Brett starting at point guard in our first two games of the 2003-04 season and appeared to have a stranglehold on that position when he sustained a nasty head gash just above the eyebrow during the second game of the season vs Holmes, which would sideline him for the best part of the next month.  His injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the team as it opened a window of
opportunity for recently converted forward Jason Cooper who responded commendably, providing Cooper with the experience necessary to add another layer to our depth chart at the guard position.
Brett Reilly has been a four year member of the National Honor Society

He was named to the 10th Region All "A" All-Academic Team and was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship in conjunction with the Touchstone Energy
All "A" Classic
State Tournament.

The basketball teams that Brett has played on over the past four years.  Freshmen 01-02, JV 02-03, Varsity 03-04 have compiled a cumulative win-loss record of 78-24
